Idaho currently has twenty-seven high schools that are fully vested. The first school in the state to become fully vested was an 1A school, Cascade High School. Since then, the following schools have become fully vested: Snake River, Teton, Bishop Kelly, Blackfoot, Wood River, Carey, Lakeland, Homedale, Soda Springs, Mountain Home, Shoshone, Clark Fork, Garden Valley, Kootenai, Coeur d'Alene, Jerome, Post Falls, Kellogg, Clearwater Valley, Lapwai, Middleton, Glenns Ferry, Pocatello, North Gem, Ririe and Challis.
Once fully vested, if a school changes classification it will remain fully vested without having to pay a higher vestment amount. Congratulations to these eighteen schools for making the commitment to become fully vested. Vested schools will receive 100% of available funds paid for travel expenses to IHSAA state competition, including the speech arts and athletics.
Each year, more than 60,000 Idaho high school students participate in state athletic and non-athletic championship events in their respective high school. This experience helps our youth develop social skills, understand the importance of team work, budget their time wisely, and learn trust, loyalty, respect, and commitment become values that enable a group of individuals to function as one in pursuit of their goal.
These experiences are invaluable in developing character and equipping students with the life skills necessary to function effectively in their future careers, communities and relationships.
These reports illustrate how much a school has paid on a year-to-date basis. The cumulative balance and the percent vested.
